It takes a lot of hard work to achieve a good reputation in your local area, let alone to the extent where your customers are willing to fly you half way around the globe to ensure consistency of colour, quality and finish.
Team Atlantic Splash www.rowtheatlantic2013.co.uk a Team of 5 Sussex based rowers who attempted to take on a challenge of a lifetime, The Talisker Whiskey Atlantic Challenge www.taliskerwhiskyatlanticchallenge.com ! approached us during a Networking meeting at BNI Arundel www.bnisussex.co.uk/sussex-arundel-bni after their previous sign supplier backed out of producing the final race graphics for Missy (the teams Boat / Vessel) as they had already supplied almost every sponsors logo as printed vinyl graphics and applied it to missy completely free of charge which the team and sponsors were extremely grateful for as this enabled the team to promote its sponsors at every event they attended over the previous 12 months.
So this is where Simmons Signs Limited stepped in and accepted the challenge to create a striking full vessel vinyl wrap that delivered a professional appearance that didn’t impact the appearance of any of the sponsors logo.
After measuring Missy several times and a couple of sleepless nights creating the artwork visuals, the Team were happy to have the wrap produced and installed at a unit on Littlehampton Marina, www.littlehamptonmarina.co.uk . this was completed in 2 days along with a few additional last minute sponsors logos added as vinyl decals, the team and the sponsors thought she looked amazing.
On the 24th October 2013 Missy started her voyage to the canaries, this is where the team at Simmons Signs thought their work was done! little did we know that local Speaker manufacturing company Bowers and Wilkins were going to come on board as primary sponsor for the challenge 1 week after missy had left the UK. #BackToTheDrawingBoard !
Our designers were quickly on it redrawing a section on the side of the hull that could be re-wrapped once missy had hit land in La Gomera and a plan was put in place for the installation to take place just a few days before the race was due to start.
Team Atlantic Splash left the UK on November the 16th 2013 heading to the base camp in La Gomera knowing that missy would not be far behind them in arriving to the island (or so they thought).
Missy eventually arrived in La Gomera about seven days later looking quite unique and was only one of two vessels that had been completely vinyl wrapped. Simmons Signs very own installation expert (the Boss Martin) took it upon himself to be the lucky person to jet set out to La Gomera to complete the installation of the new section of wrap and the relocation of other smaller sponsors logos. as well as installing some very unique Deck Graphics with non slip over laminate, a first in the history of the Talisker Whisky challenge. photos can be seen in our album www.facebook.com/media/set/?set=a.397936483643040.1073741846.297477590355597&type=3
With Missy’s New Look Completed and the now Internationally acclaimed Simmons Signs Limited now en-route home to not so hot or sunny Britain, the Team of Row the Atlantic started their rigorous preparations and last minute training regime.
This wasn’t the end of the Story for Team Atlantic Splash.
